I've always thought of this film as a less successful followup to Galaxy of Terror (a very fine film!) The trick as always with Corman is to overlook the anemic plot, slipshod editing, uneven acting etc and just let the movie flow over you . Having said that, this is a fun flick to watch and I enjoyed it very much. One does get the feeling that the movie was edited a little too severely (rating issues?) as there are several scenes that ended either abruptly or at least dont seem to fit the flow of the movie. As a footnote, the third film was "horror planet" which is much much worse.!!!         missy

I'm glad you reviewed this one.  I remember seeing this a loooong time ago on TMC.  The copious amounts of nudity made up for the silly looking monster, at least in my impressionable teenage mind.

I was a production assistant for New World Pictures 1980-82.  I worked on "Mindwarp" AKA "Planet of Horror" AKA "Galaxy Of Terror", and then "Forbidden World", AKA "Mutant".  It was shot entirely in Venice, CA, at the 600 Main St. studio.  It's us gofers/office staff in a lot of those scenes with the actors in space/desert suits.  Not a great one, but we had fun making it.

Only real reason to watch this is to see Dawn Dunlap... and I don't mean her acting...
