I HATE THIS MOVIE!!!    :hatred:

I actually got subjected to this flick for the 1st time in years this past weekend.  I'm not one of those people that hates the movie solely on the fact that Michael Myers isn't in it. I just happen to think that it's an awful piece of so called filmmaking.

It they hadn't called this Halloween III and had just called it Season of the Witch, people wouldn't even remember it.

I don't know what's more likely to kill, the bugs and snakes or the irritating voices.

I'm a Halloween III fan, in a funny kind of way. The idea for the plot is great but the whole thing is such an over the top cheese fest with robots and magically appearing bugs and just about everything - but that's kinda what I love about it.

I really love the music in it, too (Excluding the Silver Shamrock song of course!). My only real problem with it is that it's slow, which is odd for a film packed with so much shlock and nonsense. Oh, and the sex scene is skanky. Otherwise I'd say it was a really memorable, inventive movie packed with great ideas.

Apparently when John Carpenter was hired to write another movie with the Halloween name, he had the intention to follow this up with a number of different Halloween themed stories, a Twilight Zone style Anthology series, as opposed to repeatedly coming up with excuses for Michael Myers to have not actually been dead.

I kinda like the idea of going to the cinema every Halloween (or perhaps every other Halloween) to see a new Halloween story, but people wanted Michael Myers (can't blame them really). Problem is the true Halloween 2 sequel was then named Halloween 4 (I'd have called it Halloween: The Return of Michael Myers or something), so this thing totally disrupts the series.

Interestingly I knew a lot of people who, once I described this movie, had actually seen it on TV and really enjoyed it, not knowing the name, so I guess that's a testament to how perhaps this movie should be renamed (or even remade with a new name, who knows!) so that it can get the respect and the audience it deserves and not disrupt the Halloween series.

Halloween 3 was actually the very first true horror movie I saw. I was 9 years old and saw it at a friend's over night birthday party. Now that I'm a dad I can't imagine letting my kids watch such a movie. I watched most of it under the coverage of my sleeping bag and it definitely left a huge impression on me. At the time it was the most frightening thing I'd ever seen. Now that I've see a ton of horror films since then, I can't imagine why it was remotely scary as it's hilarious now. That silver shamrock theme music drives me nuts.

I actually liked Halloween III. Definite level of guilty pleasure involved though.

lol I know what you mean... There's a certain part of me who sees Tom Atkins kill a man who oozes yellow goo and turns out to be an android and thinks "oh man this is so a B-movie".

Shadow

Halloween III is one of my guilty pleasures. What draws me to it are the ideas presented: technology mixing with witchcraft to create a lot of bad mojo. No doubt this aspect was the contribution of uncredited writer Nigel Kneale (he of the Quatermass fame) who took his name off the project when stupid things were added to the script, like those dorky robots.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

and he also had huge problems with the violence and gore in the flick as well.

I liked the gore - personally I think it'd be an even better movie if it was more gorey.

As for the robots, I love those, lol, but yeah, natuarlly, very cheesy.

I will say this about Halloween 3 in that the female lead Stacey Nelkin was quite attractive.

I remember seeing her in Yellowbeard but not that much after that.

I gotta disagree, I thought she kinda looked like a little imp.

Then the sex scene with Tom Atkins? Pretty humorous!
