The Burgomaster

This movie is included in Mill Creek's WESTERN CLASSICS 100 MOVIE PACK.

This is a pretty good western directed by Monte Hellman (RIDE IN THE WHIRLWIND, THE SHOOTING).  Director Sam Peckinpah even shows up and has a small role.

A gunman named Drumm (Fabio Testi) is about to be hanged, but is offered a pardon if he will kill a rancher played by Warren Oates.  Oates is married to a young, attractive woman (Jenny Agutter) who falls in love with Drumm.  When her husband finds out, the action begins.

Oates is really good in his role and the movie has a good balance of drama and blazing guns.  The ending is sort of surprising.  If you enjoy westerns, you should give this one a try.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Scott

Wow, I've been trying to get a copy of this for years now and I haven't picked up the right set yet and even I won't be picking up the 100 Western set because I have to many of the films from that set. Hopefully I find it somewhere. Karma for Burgomaster.
