how exactly did schwarztanegger become Governor of California? And do the majority feel he has done well?

I just caught this on you tube and wondered why this wasn't used in his television campaigns

Well, that's fairly easy, isn't it?  Elections these days are more popularity contests than anything else, aren't they?

Still and all, though, that YouTube clip would only increase his popularity with the CA 'hip' set, doncha think?  I mean, it's progressive and all.

I suppose he's grown up a little since that video was made. You can't hold the stupidity of youth against someone (too bad we do it all the time in politics).

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

that's whats crazy - seems like with any other politician it would be scandilous

As with the 2004 elections, I'm thinking the Governator's successful campaign may have had a lot to do with the kind of people he had opposing him:

It's pretty difficult to take some critics seriously when you realize that if their own favorite politicians were doing the exact same things as the guys they're bashing, they'd be singing quite a different tune.

I think he's done okay as governor, he tried to charge in and fix all the things he felt are wrong here in one fell swoop, didn't work out to well. Now he's learning to compromise and soon he'll be just one more politician, only time will tell if he's a good or bad one. His youthful mistakes are excused because he's never tried to hide them, or deny them. His celebrity status undoubtedly helped in his election but I think that he honestly wants to do a good job, so far I think he's done okay. I do find it some what disquieting to see him on TV every other weekend playing Conan The Barbarian, but this is California, so it's probably just me, I'm from Buffalo.
