I would like to thank all the veterans for their service on this Veteran's Day  (originally called Armistice Day) and not only those in the U.S. but our brothers and sisters in Canada, the UK, and Europe.  We all enjoy many freedoms paid for with blood and sacrifice of our Service men and women.

Make sure to say a prayer for those serving today in Iraq and Afghanistan, we may not agree with the war but we should always remember that they are there in the service of our country and they deserve our support.

I would really like to give personal thanks to those members of the Bad Movies Forum for their service and also to my five brothers and our Uncle Roy, who like me  served in the US Navy, and to my Father who was drafted at age 32 (1944) and served as an MP guarding German POW's during the last days of WWII.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Definitely, thanks to all those who have served before.  Unfortunately, quite often I do not meet the veterans, I meet their families at their funerals.

Second for a big thanks to all armed services members, past and present.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Prayers and special thanks to all troops past and present. Never let their efforts go to waste. May the current and any future conflicts work out in our favor.

Theres an engineer legend similar to that of the Valkyries.
When a soldier dies, he receives a communique that says:

The engineers have breeched the gates. Green smoke is out.  The lane is clear.  Time to head in for some R&R.  Well done troop.

Actually, it's not an engineer legend, but as an engineer, it sounded good to me.

 for the troops.  Past and present.
