I'm looking for the name of a film possibly from the early 80's in which a man driving in the middle of the countryside breaks down and looking for help he calls at an isolated house where a father and daughter live on their own and give him shelter for the night. The next day he tries to continue his journey and the father who is a psycho refuses to let him leave. The father and daughter obviously hadn't had contact with anybody in years and the daughter is imprisoned in the house by the father.

Did the father make the daughter do a strip tease for the stranger and make a really bad joke about popping his daughter's cherry?

You sure it was a movie? This sounds like two anthology tv episodes. One was an episode of either tales from the darkside/monsters, where the man is a bible salesman, and has to sleep in a room with the daughter, with only a modesty sheet between them (the daughter looks really attractive at first, but turns out to be really ugly at the end). The second, an episode of tales from the crypt, was called "Death of some salesman". It featured pretty much the same senario, only this time the girl is ugly right from the start, and the entire family, mother, father, and daughter, are all played by Tim Curry (the salesman might have been Ed Begley jr, but dont quote me on that). Then again, the whole "shotgun hick wedding" is a long running cliche, so it could have come from a lot of places.

"Tonight, we will honor the greatest writers in America with a modest 9 by 12 certificate and a check for three thousand dollars...three thousand dollars? Stephen King makes more than that for writing boo on a cocktail napkin." - Jimmy Breslin

The Canadian movie Cold Comfort fits fairly well. If the guy had an accident in a blizzard, this is probably the right movie.
