Yet another Blade Runner edition?!

Last time I saw it, it wasn't quite as good as I'd remembered, but still probably the most atmospheric movie I've ever seen. Is this a good time to bring up that Deckard is not a replicant and that dreaming about a unicorn could not, by any stretch of the imagination, signify that one is a replicant? Not only could anyone dream about a unicorn at any time, even if his dream is a flashback, he could easily have a genuine memory of a unicorn, since there's all that genetic engineering going on.

On my drive from Toledo to VA on Thursday,  Terry Gross on Fresh Air interviewed Ridley Scott.  He stated that Deckard is a replicant.  It was unclear in the original version of the movie, but I certainly got the impression he was in the "director's cut" version.

I think it would have been best to leave the audience wondering, thus having two+ versions makes it even better.

You really can't appreciate this movie without reminding yourself that it came out in the 80s, the technological (both within the film and the film's own FX) and political contexts enhance the experience and explain why it met with so much resistance/rejection...and why it still means so much to my mom who doesn't care for action, generally.

Of course, Harrison Ford IS dead-sexy, even when he's not playing the badass you'd expect from a 'robot hunter'. The script isn't especially far above average (and who can say what people should talk like in the future  ) but I recommend it to ANYONE with a nice screen.
