I'm going to the Arts Festival in Oudtshoorn next week and en route there, one of the roads I have to travel on is haunted, especially over the Easter weekend.

Why didn't anyone at work tell me about this?

Because none have ever lived to tell the tale.  Well, except for the one guy who did - but then he died.

That must be that guy who went there, met the ghost and then.........oh dammit, I'm cancelling my trip. Like right now.  :buggedout: :buggedout:

I'll just courier the digital tapes down, but then they might meet the ghost.  :buggedout:

Eh...don't sweat it...ghosts are nothing to worry about. In fact...99% of the time, they seem to be caused by overactive imagination.

Just have a wooden cross in your car, she can't enter then, or is that vampires.
Barbeque sauce tastes good on EVERYTHING, even salad.

Yes, salad.

The link's gone down, but I think that I've heard this story on an old T.V show. Is this the yarn where a girl gets onto a guy's motorbike and then vanishes without a trace a few miles down the road?

Trevor

No urban legend this one, I'm afraid.  :buggedout: :buggedout:

I've heard that story, JJ but this story of the ghost girl of Uniondale, South Africa  is documented with police reports, credible, sober witnesses and even a #1 hit song.

It is quite a terrifying story when the girl's family corroborates the story and indicates that the accident took place on the very spot where the drivers who pick up this phantom hitchiker find her. Several policemen have picked her up over the years only to feel true evil in the car, a chilliness in the air and then she vanishes.  :buggedout:

And I'm going to be travelling on that road!  :buggedout:

Ghosts don't bother you if you play dead.  Or is that bears?  No, I think it's a ghost's vision is based on movement, or no it's if a ghost attacks you, stop, drop, and roll.  No, that doesn't sound right either.  You know, you could try my default mechanism, which is scream like a little girl, flail all your limbs, and begin running in random directions as if you're on fire.    It hasn't worked for me yet, but I've been dying to see if it'll work on ghosts.

Anyway, that's pretty freaky.  I have seen a ghost once, along with three other people.  I've been trying to find ways to legitimize what I saw, but there's no denying it.  Didn't do much more than scare us and knock over a few pots and pans, but still left my goddaughter bawling all night.

I am leaving on Sunday 23rd March.

Hope to hear from you all when I get back.....if she doesn't ask for a lift. She can ride in the trunk of the car.
