This DVD had some weird cropping or something going on with the image.  It was clear but weird.  I put it in wide zoom and that made it a little better, but it was still a little weird.  At the same time, I've dealt with far worse.

This is Jaws but an alligator set in a thai village.  the characters were likeable. I especially liked the cowardly guy with the big nose.  It's quite a nose. You don't often see that in movies, but it actually added authenticity.  The alligator is like 30 feet long and somehow manages to go undetected till them oment he is ready to strike.  it's a cheap computer animation gator.  Your suspension of disbelief starts to go way up into the red, but eventually they start acknowledging like "lets call the army in" and not randomly going down the river by themselves late at night.  It's really alot like Jaws in many ways, but I liked it and the ending was good.  fighting the alligator is a big job for villagers without much in the way of resources or firepower.

Intresting. Might for the bill for those need a croc fix.

I reviewed this one on my site, between the time I watched it and the time I put up the review the Thai government had gone through a coup, which isn't that uncommon there.  This film was okay, but reminded me of SciFi Channel films more than anything.

I picked up several Thai VCDs recently, there is a small subgenre of crocodile, crocodilemen, and giant spider films going on.  Unfortunately their film industry is in trouble since the coup, the number of quality films from there has lessened (but I hear Chocolate is pretty good) and they've seem to be not keeping up the hope/hype of taking the reins of the Asian film industry that Tony Jaa fueled.
