THE CELESTINE PROPHECY (2006) - Oh man this was a bad film as in poorly written, acted, and just about every aspect of it. It's based on a best selling novel. Some of the concept are good as far as it's philosophy, but they really wasted their time making this film. There are scrolls that have been found in Peru before the Incas there was another people with an advance philosophy and an archaeologist, the Peruvian Army, and the Catholic Church want them stopped before the knowledge can be shared with the world. Anyone see this film?

A few enlightening ideas, but not enough for a film based on this poorly written story. THE DA VINCI CODE was much better as it had a lot more material to cover. THE CELESTINE PROPHECY had little philosophy and a very weak story to deliver it's message.

(4 out of 10 Stars)    Perhaps only for those who read the book.

what a horrible title.  it sounds like a nightmare new age/ prog-metal concept album.  make that double album

Joe the Destroyer

I tried to the read the book and got as far as the fourth chapter or so before I figured out that it basically felt like a cross between New Age mysticism and a game of Yu-Gi-Oh.  In other words, doubly awkward.  I don't recommend it.
