Mr. DS

Actually I'm odd like that.  I hate Xmas but a lot of my favorite movies/shows are Xmas related.
(A Christmas Story, Rudolph, The Muppets Xmas Special, etc)

I actually really like this song.  You can hear the joy in John's voice as he sings it.

Let me guess, your favorite is A Very Brady Christmas, featuring the Brady Bunch reunion in 1989?  I know it's mine.

I even bought the dvd for Rudolph.  That's the best one.  Sadly, right after I bought it, I saw a thing at K-Mart with 8 Christmas Specials, including Rudolph, Little Drummer Boy, Santa Claus is Comin to Town, Frosty, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and 2 or 3 others.

Rudolph is, hands down, my all time favorite Christmas special.  Forget Charlie Brown and his stupid "Wocka Wocka" teachers that sound like horns.  Rudolph ALWAYS wins.
I disagree.  VINCE GUARALDI's music alone makes "A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS" a real contender, setting aside any other charms or shortcomings.  Don't you be hasty, my Happy

Oh yeah...well I say Joy.   :bouncegiggle:  Actually you're probably right, he does give a sense of hope.  The war wasn't really wasn't over at that point.  If you gave me points for the Mizers, maybe you'll like this...you old softy.   :teddyr:

Don't get me wrong.  Vince did great music, and I'm not debating that.  Just, I NEVER liked Peanuts or Charlie Brown, so I always skip the special, regardless.   :buggedout:  Sorry to any fans of the specials.

I like "Rudolph" & "Charlie Brown", but I say "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" is far and away my favorite.  Why?  One word: KARLOFF.

Furthermore, I too am a crooked jerky jockey who rides a crooked hoss, so I can relate to the main character.

The Grinch is good.  I just watched it last night.  I can now relate to the character more than I did as a kid, which is kinda sad.

The only Christmas song that I enjoy during the rest of the year is "Power Of Love" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood". The repeated line "I will protect you from the hooded claw...keep the vampires from your door" actually makes it great for Halloween.
