I saw an Evil Dead musical/play a few years ago out of someone's backyard, but maybe they've upgraded to the big stage now?!

Actually, we saw it back in October '06, so it's been out for over 2 years now. I've got a performance of it on video. It was sent to prospective theaters to show them how the show would play out. The quality's not great, but I can definitely recommend it if you can't catch it live.

A friend of mine actually got to see this when he and his wife were on vacation about a year ago.  They said that it was quite good surprisingly.

Haven't heard of the Manos musical myself, but a former co-worker of mine and his wife used to put together musicals based on classic trash movies. Never actually got to see any as he never brought in any tapes of the performances for me before I left that particular job, but I know they put together one based on Orgy of the Dead and I think one about The Sinister Urge.
