D-Man

AKA: The Titan Find, for you Brits on the board.

At first glance, this film (from habitual hack director William Mallone) looks like nothing more than an "Alien" ripoff.  It's actually more clever, and more entertaining than that.  It actually seems to be a quasi-remake of Mario Bava's "Planet of The Vampires", which just happens to have an Alien-ish look to it.

Make no mistake, this IS a B-movie, but it's one that seemed to have pretty good production values for its time (the space suits don't look incredibly cheap), and one that actually manages to entertain on some level, which is more than what I can say for other Space-horror films that really do rip off Alien, like "Insemenoid" or "Star Crystal".

Plus, having the late, great Klaus Kinski in a supporting role doesn't hurt either.

Awesome movie!

I remember being totally freaked out after I watched this when I was a kid.
I didn't want to go to bed and my mother got p**sed off that she had let me watch it.

It does have some genuinely creepy moments.  The way the creature was able to make controllable zombies out of its victims was cool and set it slightly apart from the xenomorph in the Alien films.

I'd give Creature 3 of of 4 stars.
It's a fun, cheesy and sometimes creepy 80's sci-fi horror flick.

I had this on tape...I like how cool and laid back Klaus is...while the rest of the cast goes apesh!t!  :bouncegiggle:

It's a favorite of mine as well.  The beginning is super cheesy, but once it gets going it's actually pretty good.  Definitely creepy in parts.  Good characters too.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.
