THAT'S THE WAY! THAT'S THE WAY YOU DO IT! mid-80's Horror Flick. What is it??

Many moons ago a few of my buddies and I were having a D&D sleep-over party and we got some movies, too. One I remember was 'Neon Maniacs'. The other, as I recall, was made up of two or three short features. The part that sticks in my mind had something to do with a 'Punch" doll (as in Punch and Judy dolls) that had a stick it would use to whack people. In the end some guy went crazy or was possessed and took on the persona of the Punch doll and attacked his friends with a bat while screaming "That's the way! That's the way you do it!" This sticks in my mind because throughout the rest of that evening and early morning (and even for weeks after) my friends and I would abruptly launch assaults on each other in a nacho and Jolt induced frenzy while shouting "That's the way! That's the way you do it!" Ahh... the good ol' days. :)

Anyway, does this ring a bell for anyone? I thought it would be fun to reintroduce this to my friends so many years later. I know that's it's not "Dolls" which has a Punch doll transformation at the end, and it's not "Trilogy of Terror". Since we watched it with "Neon Maniacs" the year had to be somewhere between '85 and '87.

Hope you can help me out!

I think that this is "Screamtime" (1983).

I thought that I had a copy in my collection, but could not find it.  Possibly one of the VHS tapes that went missing during a move.

Yes! I think that's it!  :bouncegiggle: I'm ordering a used copy from Amazon.com. It's too bad to see so many little-known gems fade into obscurity because they weren't popular enough to make it to DVD. I've been going around to video stores and snatching up what I can. It's great to see passionate, die-hard fans like you working to keep these treasures alive. :) Thanks for answering a question that has been stuck in my head for years!

Glad that I could be of assistance!

We were doing very well with obscure movies getting DVD releases for a while, but then the flood started to dry up.  Maybe after all the recession fears abate there will be another deluge.  Looking at the future releases these days, I can tell that not as many old titles are being selected for release as we saw in 2007 and early 2008.
