1987 was a vast tragic wasteland for motion pictures in general.  It's a fact.  Check it out on IMDb for yourself and see.

Even Superman couldn't save it, but that wasn't because he didn't try - maybe this film was recorded on Kryptonite film stock?

Read my review of Superman IV - and it sure could have used an I.V.   :tongueout:

This is one of those films that is so bad that a person just has to see it to believe.  The whole message is rammed down the audience's throat, and Nuclear Man is just awful.  He grunts and screams, and that's about it.  The whole movie is that bad.  I still guffaw out loud every time I see Superman rebuild the Great Wall of China with his eye beams.

For the record, I don't like "Superman III" very much either.  It just didn't have the terrible "Nuclear weapons are bad, mkay?" message overriding everything else.  However, "Superman III" did have bad comedy, which is one of my big dislikes.  The two movies have about the same entertainment level for me.

Oh, no doubt this is the worst of the lot, Andrew; as far as Superman III goes, at least they tried.  A little.  My biggest (semi-) complaint is in the casting of Richard Pryor.  That was a gimmick, plain and simple.  But it was still okay because it was what it was....

But IV isn't a Superman movie; it's a Golan/Globus movie.  Therein lies the problem.  This is the only Superman flick in which Supes has cheap-a$$ powers
