aka why not just run out the door and jump in the pool.   Enjoyably crappy made for tv movie featuring Brian Dennehy, some guy from some other movie, and , the big payoff, prime "three's Company " era Suzanna Summers who is positively ravishing in a baywatch tight  swimsuit and other trashy garb.  As ifs often the case,  there are numerous plot devices to try and create more tension the most baffling being when the ants run from the scene of a crime to escape police detection.  The rescue is really the focal point of the hooey though. They get one woman from the window by raising a fireladder horizontally and she jumps out to it.  she slips off and instead of lowering the ladder to the ground five feet over THEY RAISE THE LADDER STRAIGHT UP  the idfference between a slightly sore ankle and certain death.  Then they just leave the other people in the huose and no one complains when it drives away.  They are lucky it wasn't an IQ test.   I loved the ants crawly theme music.  It's more glamorous than "rattlers" and has the look and feel of a "Fantasy Island" episode.  print is unusually good.

The Burgomaster

This was a made-for-TV movie and I remember watching it the first time it was on.  Years later, I worked in a videotape rental store and we had a copy.  It came in one of those oversized VHS boxes and had a picture off someone covered in ants on the cover.  Many customers probably rented it because they thought the cover looked cool and didn't realize it was a TV movie.

I remember that one - wasn't it a lady's bosom all covered with ants?
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I had an aunt who was all bosom.  Is that almost the same thing?

Oh yeah, I have this movie on DVD.  I got it at a pawn shop for 2 bucks.  It was a lot more amusing than I thought it would be.  Compare to a lot of movies I bought, that was actually the highlight of them all...

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

one guy was supposed to be the jerk of the cast but they really overdid it.  he looked like a serial killer and like they are escaping the ants and the hero guy goes "here take this can of kerosene" and he's like "you take it!!"  .  yeah we get it, he's a real jerk.  but does he have to be one at every possible moment?

and when they show the scientist he has a huge culpture of an ant behind him.  okay he's interested in ants, so much so he has a huge sculpture of one so that'll explain his super knowledge of ants in a little while
