This film has been dormant for, like, ever. Its now scheduled for a 2011 release.

Anyway, after Diary of the Dead do we still want him to make films ?

If God exists, why did he make me an atheist? Thats His first mistake.

I'd like Romero to make some more non-zom films myself, I loved Monkeyshines and I hear Martin is some kinda classic. IMO I don't think George is really serious enough about his own films...

I'd almost totally forgotten about this!  I was keeping track of it way back when they had a super-active website for it, and it really seemed like it way going somewhere and then, POOF, gone.  From what Romero said it seems like it's a really big maybe.

I still haven't seen Diary of the Dead.  I'm really wary of it, but then again I enjoyed Land of the Dead and not too many folks are keen on it.

Martin is indeed VERY good.  I'd say it's probably his second best film, after Dawn of the Dead, and just ahead of Night of the Living Dead.  Track it down if you can.  Really, all of his films are at least worth watching.  I even enjoyed Bruiser, though it has some serious issues.

Even though I also thought Diary of the Dead was quite disappointing, I did enjoy Land of the Dead, so I'd also like to see Diamond Dead.

I quite enjoyed Diary of the Dead, at least better than Land of the Dead.  I attended an interview with Romero last year and he was proud of Diary of the Dead, because it was his first independent movie in a while and I think he was a little tired of the studio system after Land of the Dead.

He also mentioned Martin is his favourite film he has made so with that endorsement you should check it out!

Still, I am always generally pleased with a Dead film: they may not always be perfect [or far from it] but zombie + Romero is a combo good enough for me!

Yes... yes you might be.  :tongueout: That movie was tragic! It was non-stop lameness, at best.

George Romero's films have been letting me down for quite a while...
-- "Diary of the Dead" ...super-sucked
-- "Land of the Dead" ...sucked

...as a matter of fact; I haven't enjoyed anything he's done since "Creepshow" and "Day of the Dead" which were ~25 years ago!!!
