Something about the box description on the DVD sounded vaguely familiar, but I couldn't think what it was . . . but when I watched it I realized immediately that it was a sequel to a film I'd already seen.  Finally, when I looked it up on IMDB, I saw that the original title was MACHINED REBORN, and I remembered watching MACHINED (I think I even have  a review of it on here somewhere) a couple years ago.

Here's the synopsis.  A young man named Cade buys a junkyard, which happens to be situated only 200 yeards from a soon-to-be constructed interstate Highway extension.  He figures that all he has to do is sit on the spot a couple of years and eke out a living as a mechanic, and then when the interstate rolls in he will be sitting on a gold mine.  His fiancee reluctantly agrees to move out to the junkyard with him, and so they move into the trailer there.

The girlfriend  is a very attractive woman who spends a good deal of time with no shirt on, and early on it seems that the junkyard is haunted.  This is the place where Motorman Dan and his mechanized accomplice murdered all their victims a few years before, but the real estate agent hasn't told them about that.   But Motorman Dan, the mastermind behind the crimes, was never apprehended, and he continues to lurk in his nearby lair, watching their comings ang goings and personal encounters through a battery of hidden cameras.

Eventually, he kidnaps the girl and holds her hostage, forcing Cade to kill anyone who comes inside the junkyard. Cade gets shot in the face by the first set of intruders, goes mad, and makes himself a metal mask to hide his disfigurement.  Then he gets serious about killing. One architect, two random friends who drop in for a visit, and two cops later, the realtor who sold them the place comes back with his boss and a co-worker, to tell them about the unsavory past of their property . .   in time to become Cade's final victims.

All in all, not bad.  Some parts were a little too "torture porn"-ish for me, but the metal mask was scary, Cade's fiancee is a real babe,  and Cade himself is a properly tormented murderer, while Motorman Dan is the kind of guy you want to watch get fed into a woodchipper feet first.  All in all, worth the rental.
