Hello, badmoviephiles.  I'm here with another review you guys love to tear apart and make fun of.  What movie am I going to review this time?  Well, this film was made in 2004 and stars Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick and Bette Midler and is a remake.  TA-DA!!! The Stepford Wives,  I didn't see the original Stepford Wives so I can't comment on that.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this movie a 2.

First flaw in this film is the setting, Stepford Connecticut.  There is no town or city in Connecticut with that name.

Second flaw is the wives.  These women are like something out of a Leave it to Beaver nightmare.  The way they act and dress is something out of the 1950s.  But even worse is how they are made.  When I first saw the trailers for this film, I thought they were robots.  But as I watched later in the film, I see they are normal women with microchips surgically implanted in their brains.  These microchips make these women behave in their hyperdomestic depravity.  They even turn them into walking ATMs.  They can also malfunction to make the women repeat themselves like a broken record and make sparks fly out of their ears.  This is unrealistic in the extreme.  If you implanted a mcrochip in someone's brain, the body's immune system would repond by rejecting the foreign object.  Also, the brain is an extremely complex organ.  To control it with a single micochip is impossible.  Its like trying to control an Airbus A380 with a standard remote control.

I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't want one of these women as a wife.  I'd much rather have a woman who is independant and a free thinker.
Babe, I'm leaving.  I must be on my way.  The time is drawing near.  The train is going.  I see it in your eyes.  The love beneath your tears.  And I'll be lonely without you.  And I'll need your love to see me through.  So please me.  My heart is your hands.  And I'll be missing you...

the Stepford wives IMO isn't a good movie by any means, but i'm seriously disturbed by the lack of enjoyment you must get out of life.

Lack of enjoyment?  Enjoyment is a matter of perspective.  What's enjoyment to one person isn't necessarily enjoyment to another.
