early 90's film young adult/teen girl's spine ripped out

forgot the name of the movie. most likely filmed between 1989 and 1993. most likely filmed in rhode island but not sure if film was based in rhode island. has a scene where a girl is running from "bad guy", trips, and gets her spine ripped out. any guesses or help is appreciated.

The only movie that comes to mind for me is Species, but it doesn't fit your details.  A girl gets her spine ripped out while she's on the crapper at a nightclub.

no. species isnt it. its a pretty b-rated movie. probably by some college kids so it wont be well known.
