If memory serves there was an ape rattling (even breaking) bars in The Bride and the Beast.

Ozzymandias speaks: The Monster Walks features a gorilla named Mr. Yogi in a cage in the basement, screaming and shaking the bars. The movie ends with Willie Best delivering the most politcally incorrect line in movie history.

Im pretty sure something like that happens in "Freaked" with Alex Winter and an uncredited Keanu Reeves.

What is this all for, anyway?

Oh, and it also happens in a episode of Tales From the Crypt" called "Lower Berth".

Pretty sure several of the guys in gorilla suits did this in their heyday. Probably some who appeared in Abbott and Costello films and Three Stooges films...not sure of which now though of the top of my head.

I'm pretty sure the Stooges short Idle Roomers has footage of 'Lupe the Wolf Man' shaking the bars on his cage.

In the opening of It's Alive III: Island Of The Alive, the killer mutant baby not only shakes at the bars, but LITERALLY bends the bars out.
