Snoogans

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was concedered a "failure" by critics. We all are critics here and have a big enough voice of any of those "Ebert and Roper" bastards. What i'm saying is that we should tell Kevin Smith as loyal fans and tell him the Jay and Bob DON'T suck balls and to continue the snoogans!

(who's with me?)

Not me. Smith said he's done with the characters. Don't make him make a movie that will just be another commercial failure, but a definite hit among the small community of Smith loyalists.

Ebert gave JAY AND SILENT BOB three stars.  Considering the movie, that's a pretty good review.

I enjoy all of Kevin Smith's oeuvre.  (Well, maybe not CHASING AMY, which I found too preachy.)  But hell, if he doesn't change he's going to become a one joke wonder.  A modern day John Hughes.  The View-Askewniverse is hilarious and over.  Let it die with dignity, not dragged to death in sequel hell like some sort of debased POLICE ACADEMY.

Hell, I read an Entertainment Weekly review that decried the fact that JAY AND SILENT BOB was the last movie to feature the duo, as they forsaw a definite "franchise" opportunity.  Is that what you want?  A crap money-grubbing series of movies where Kevin Smith humor gradually loses all credibility in the vast money making machine that is Hollywood?  Whose side are you on, "Snoogans"?

A lack of thought has never been a attribute I've been inclined to put up with in other people.  You are not the exception.  Sit back and enjoy and let the professionals go about their business.

Offthewall

I'm indifferent about the movie. Yeah it's good, not nearly as great as Clerks and Mallrats are, I view it on the same level as Dogma and Higher than Chasing Amy (I was a fan of Chasing Amy to the levels I was with the other 4) but I remember getting really angry about people who never heard of Jay and Silent bob going to see JASBSB and saying it didn't make sense only because the didn't see the movies before. I always get ticked when i hear people repeat JASBSB quotes (and mess them up might I add). I'm glad he stopped, I'm a fan of underground stuff and I enjoy being one of a small population of Underground fans, I hate when the Media forces things to be not so underground anymore.

I just thought it was funny and we need more in it's genre, Kevin Smith was a genius at it. GoOdByE *happy dance*

Just remember what Kevin has always said sice his daughter was born, "She's going to go to collage some day and I'm going to need to pay for it some how."

Jay and Silent Bob may be done for now but in the mind of this fan they will not be forgoten

This is just my opinion, so don't stone me to death. I am really sorry Kevin Smith, but as much as I liked CLERKS, his "sequel" JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK was nothing more but a big-budget so-called "comedy" that relied on nothing but bad acting, swearing, and had no humor whatsoever. And what the hell was Chris Rock and Ben Affleck doing in this movie?

Kevin Smith has just proved that he has given up on his independent ways and sold himself out to Hollywood. What a shame.

Yeah, I'm kind of a jerk when I post drunk.

Anyway, if you want to see more in the JAY AND SILENT BOB vein, I suggest you go out and buy CLERKS: THE ANIMATED SERIES.  It's wacky.  There should also be CLERKS animated movie out soon.  Its title, which Chris K. should like, is CLERKS: SELL OUT.

I actually thought it was a pretty decent flick, but I do feel that it is time to put Jay and Bob to rest.  I only liked them in certain Smith flicks (Clerks, Chasing Amy, JASBSB) and it's time for them to go.  I'm sure they'll pop back up in random films (Scream 3 for example) and will probably be a small part of Smith's upcoming films such as a neo Fletch and Jersey Girl.  Good enough for me.

Jay and Silly Bob(clerks animated) slayed me. The unbridled lunacy is just what the doctor ordered. Affleck was of course "da bom" . I hope youse guys don't trash this flick too much. Director's commentary doesn't compare to Mallrats but what does.
