I've never been huge into Type O Negative, but they are a damn good band and I've always thought Peter Steele was very talented, especially in terms of his lyrical ability.

I just found out about this as well and am saddened.  I wasn't a huge fan of the band per se but I dig some of their songs.  I always found although they had a good sense of humor about themselves, they still took their sound seriously.  Peter had a great booming voice and a great stage presence to go with it.   RIP

R.I.P. - I've always liked several of Type O Negative's tunes even if I didn't agree with a lot of their lifestyle choices.
