Here's another DVD-R I bought from Cinema de Bizarre, my new favorite movie source.

In San Francisco during the 1950s (although, most of the black characters have 1970s style afros and some wear 1970s style clothing), Dr. Jekyll (who resembles a young, bearded Warren Oates) and his henchman Boris kidnap people and inject them with a serum that makes them violent.  Much of this movie consists of people in a vacant room whaling the crap out of each other using martial arts while Jekyll rants and raves.

Jekyll also has a mute, lobotomized sister  - - in one tasteless scene, Jekyll sticks an ice pick in her arm and in another scene he pours boiling water on her.

He also keeps his former lab assistant, an attractive young woman, tied up in a room.  He spends a lot of time kissing her and licking her neck and telling her he will untie her if she promises to love him and help with his experiments.

Most of the movie was shot in the dark with only the actors' faces and shoulders illuminated.  This is probably because they had no budget for set decoration.  And Jekyll wears only one outfit during the entire movie: a red smoking jacket with a silk collar.

I don't think Robert Louis Stevenson would have been happy with this movie.
