snake people ???

I saw this movie sometime in the late 70's - early 80's on TV.  Not sure when it came out or what country it's from.

The time period could be sometime in the darkages or in the future.  There were different kingdoms, different armies -  All I really remember is the 'snake people'.  They would attack - by jumping up out of the ground as their enemy ame by.

It is a movie, though I believe it may have been a pilot for a TV series that was never made.

Archer : Fugitive from the empire, was a made for TV movie. It was clearly intended to be the pilot for a tv show, but much to my crushing disappointment at the time it was not turned into a series.

This and "Hawk : The Slayer" were the iconic D&D-ish movies out at the time among me and my friends.
