movie with guy who drinks from specimen jars?

This may be a French or German film, all I remember is a guy who has a job putting alcohol or some fluid into specimen jars in the back room of possibly a museum? The back room has lines and lines of specimen jars and over time he starts to drink from the specimen jars and it is a miraculous thing (life changing) for him.
