Not sure if this belongs in the Weird News forum.

The notorious hicksploitation epic God's Bloody Acre was slated for release on DVD 01/25/11.

Shorty after the announcement rumors spread on the internet that Code Red was pulling it's God's Bloody Acre DVD release without explanation.

Turned out to be true and most online retailers suddenly listed God's Bloody Acre as out of stock/not available anymore. Apparently copies still made it to amazon.com and amazon.ca and shipped to those who had it on pre-order. Soon enough copies surfaced on e-bay but only for a limited time.

Code Red now lists God's Bloody Acre for release in June/July as a double feature with another title. In the meantime the yanked release is a hot item amongst genre fans, and heavily sought after. If you happen to own a copy you could make a fortune selling it.

I still think its a promotional stunt on behalf of Code Red, to "boost" sales. Code Red has a history of whining about declining Code Red DVD sales on message boards.

I'm not knocking Code Red, I love all their releases. Their inconsistency can be annoying at times though.

The reason they pulled the release is because of the menu:

Yeah, I read about that a few days later. Forgot to update my post about that.
