The Burgomaster

I've been waiting for this DVD release for a long time and I just bought it.  I originally saw this movie in the early 1980s at a midnight showing with a bunch of friends and remembered it as being very bad, bud very irreverant.

First, it's probably the most blatant of the ANIMAL HOUSE rip-offs, with many similar characters and scenes.  The main character is a Bluto Blutarsky clone called "Grossout," played by John DiSanti (who resembles John Belushi).  Grossout performs one disgusting act after another throughout the movie.  His scenes including sitting on the toilet, farting, vomiting, burping, picking his nose . . . you name it.  He even enters a farting contest where he "draws mud."

This movie probably holds the record for the most scenes of:

* People "mooning"
* People farting

It seems like every time they couldn't think of anything else to do, they inserted a shot of someone's naked ass or a fart sound (or both).

This is a total "guy movie" and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.  However, I am able to enjoy it in a sick, twisted sort of way.

I really liked this one too though I do recall it had an odd homo erotic feel to it. alot of farting and male bonding and not much nudity or women really at all.

Just so long as they didn't do any farting while they were doing the bonding.  :buggedout: :buggedout: :wink:
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

Never seen so I was looking up DVD releases. Seems like King Frat never got a decent "legit" DVD release. Not sure I wanna spend money on something that looks like bad VHS (according to reviews). HD/Blu-ray has me spoiled already I guess  :bluesad:

I just bought the DVD from deepdiscount.com.  The quality is fine . . . definitely better than VHS.  I saw it in the theater and I seem to remember the film quality wasn't great to begin with.  It's a fullscreen version, but that's fine.  I don't think it was filmed in a super widescreen aspect ratio anyway.  If you buy this DVD, I think you'll be satisfied with it.  I doubt any distributor will ever invest in a slick, remastered DVD release with lots of extras.  The movie is pretty obscure, pretty bad, and wasn't even very well known when it was new.
