I seem to have vague recollection of a movie about a mteorite that falls in england and turns into a rational, polite killer with a monstrous hand that is from another world and has some rational, logical reason for killing people on earth, it even engages in civil discourse along the way.


The film was I believe "the night caller' from the title song and it seems to have vanished without a trace. Anyone know anything about it? I know the title, I was just wondering if anyone had seen it or could discuss it.

Sounds great, but I don't know what it is.  It bears some similarity to an 80's Tom Baker-era Doctor Who story called The Hand of Fear.  Mining workers come across what looks like a carved hand, wearing a ring.  The ring possesses the Doctor's companion and causes her to place the hand in a nuclear reactor, where it absorbs the radiation and regenerates into a blue stone female alien.
