This is one of the best unsung treasures ive seen in years! Dennis Hopper-who is always great-plays an Aussie bandit....based onna true story,I reckon. And Micheal Pate is here too!-(CURSE OF THE UNDEAD  cowboy vampire.)
It starts out kinda hippy-dippy-but ends up so well-dam-Hopper is such an excellent actor-I love this film-got it for $1.00 at the flea market-bought a Ninja 20 pack and MegaShark vs Giat Octopus same time-this was the best of the bunch.
I could only find this Troma trailer....but domt let that scare you! MAD DOG MORGAN is a great, very unsung film-see it! You'll like it!

This features in the documentary mentioned in another thread called Not Quite Hollywood, about Australian exploitation cinema.  I had never heard of it before, and was surprised to find a movie about an Australian bushranger starring Dennis Hopper!  Apparently the American release had at least twenty minutes cut out of it, so the most recent Australian edition is the complete cut.

In the documentary, there is a flash of a scene where you see Dennis Hopper being held down, with his pants being pulled off by some other guy!  It seems that his character gets the backdoor beefstick at that point.  Yeesh.

There are many funny anecdotes about Hopper, about how tanked up on drugs and booze he was, and how he was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol limit that should have killed him.  Supposedly he was banned not only from driving in Australia, but from being a passenger in a car, and told that he had to leave the country immediately!  Others involved said that they had no idea how they even finished the picture, given that situation.

He also refused to wear shoes at one point, even though it shot the continuity to hell.

Gotta love em!  :bouncegiggle: Charlie Sheen aint got nothing over Billy!
David Gulpilil plays his buddy.I think his charecter's name (Billy) was a nod to EASY RIDER. A great actor-I seen him in a weird movie called the LAST WAVE (1977).

The Burgomaster

I have this in a Mill Creek 50 Movie Pack.  Unfortunately, it appears to be a cut version . . . maybe a version that was shown on airplanes or television.  Boo!
