One of the things Ted Botha hauled me over the coals for was "all the American and UK films mentioned in your manuscript which have nothing to do with South Africa". I had to explain that films like FIRST BLOOD (1982), ARMAGEDDON, RUNAWAY TRAIN, ARACHNOPHOBIA, DR NO, GOLDFINGER, G I JANE etc have South African connections and if he read a line or two further he would see why.

I have an update which made me 😀😀 for the first time in days.

My colleague Chris let me know that he'd read the book and said it was almost totally inaccurate when it came to listing the films made here.

The author said that the first two sound features, MOEDERTJIE (Little Mother) and SARIE MARAIS, both from 1931 were "irretrieveably lost".

Dumbass. There are negatives and prints at the place where I worked for more than three decades.

I should be angry with the author for putting out BS but 😃😀😃😀😃
