CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL THIS MOVIE WAS ABOUT.......
I SAW IT ON SCREAM(THE HORROR CHANNEL) AND STILL CAN'T EXPLAIN IT

Easy one.  The female lead is really an alien.  Remember how at the beginning she was supposed to have gotten out of a mental institution?  It's 'cause she claimed to be an alien.  From the planet K-Mart.  Her doctor kept trying to convince her she was really a human being, but then she ate this banana real fast, which really turned on the straight male staff and...

Ooops, sorry.  I'm confusing this with a very recent movie that also used ambiguity as a plot device, just not as well.  In the case of Let's Scare Jessica to Death, the ambiguity is scary because we are never told how much weirdness Jessica sees is her creepy imagination.

I saw this when it was released in '71. I liked it, particularly because of the emphasis on atmosphere. Yep, it's unclear at times exactly what's going on, but that didn't spoil it for me.
If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

Its a classic.
Two hippie couples move into an old house. Whith happens to be home to a vampire chick. And the whole town are vampires too.
No fangs...no death by sunlight or crosses.
The vampires win.
I LOVE this movie.

I LOVE this movie.
They're not hippies, and it's three people, a man, a disturbed woman, and their hippie-looking male friend... the fourth woman is a kind-of "hippie chick" but she's already in the house when they arrive... are there ghosts or vampires, or is Jessica losing her grip... again?  It is an effective flick; I own it.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

My mother says this movie caused a horrible seizure when she watched it as a little girl.  I watched back in the 90s and had a hard time keeping interest.. but the idea of losing your mind is a pretty creepy.

It's part of my yearly Halloween/October viewing. Love the movie, never get tired of watching it.
