It seems some fans of schlock are trying to make a remake of Plan 9 From Outer Space. Usually I'd be worried about movie remakes however I recognized one of the cast as aspiring film make and beloved YouTube celebrity as James D. Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd). I've seen many videos the nerd has done involving Ed Wood and bad old black and white films and if he's involves I bet that whoever is making this remake can do the original justice.

I'm not worried. I'll definitely try it.

I got some faith in this project.  It could be like The Muppets for me where the true fans put on a real good movie for us.  I'll give this one a shot.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I will be giving this a look but I have this strange feeling that I will enjoy Ed Wood 's classic film much more than this

At least they got original cast member Conrad Brooks in it.

The irony is that if they make a good movie, then they'll have one-upped Wood. If they make a bad movie, then they'll have basically homaged his schlock.

I guess it's sort of a "win-win" scenario.

Hmmm....maybe. The original is such a classic....we'll see.
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

I dunno....the thing is, Wood didn't KNOW he was making a bad movie.  A big part of what makes his flicks so endearing is that wild, misguided passion and energy.  The trouble with homages is they're so self-aware, sometimes it can can suck away all the charm.
I'll probably still give it a watch though.  The potential for awesomeness is high enough.
