Jack

So what's everybody doing for the big end of the year bash?  I'm planning on having a few beers (at home of course) and being in bed by 10:30 or so   :bouncegiggle:

I assume some of you guys must have somewhat more exciting plans?

The Burgomaster

My wife and I are having my parents and my sister and her husband over to our house.  I'm making slow-cooked ribs and barbecue sauce in the crock pot as an appetizer and raviolis with meat sauce for the main course.  Plus the usual munchies, liquor, and dessert.

No big plans for tonight. I'm making deviled eggs with a creamy smoked salmon/yolk mix. Later some Queso dip. Bought a bunch of new movies on Friday so I'm gonna get comfy watching Blu-rays and pig out on the side.

Mr. DS

Same plans as Jack though it will be probably and hour or two before 10 PM.  I'm working on getting over a cold.

I'm staying up until midnight watching movies like I always do.  Tonight, it is Cowboys & Aliens, Attack the Block, and maybe one more.

Broke, & Wells Fargo is floating my last few bucks... But I digress...

I got myself a turntable for Christmas, hoping to use it for a party with friends who are into classic vinyl.
It turned into a bad movie party, & I never got around to using it.

Tonight, I'm pulling out all my old records, plus some more I inherited from My late uncle.

So far, Spike Jones Greatest Hits Vol.2, Meco's Theme from Star Wars...

Next, is either "My Son, The Folk Singer" by Allan Sherman, or "Wonderfulness" by Bill Cosby.

Apparently between Cowboys & Aliens and Attack the Block, I'm now watching The Help.  Yep, certianly an odd choice between two violent alien invasion films.  I suppose I have to let my mom pick one of the movies we are watching after all.

Had four beers. Watched a documentary on Thrash Metal.

Now, it's just after midnight. Looking to catch some sleep. Got work tomorrow and Monday and very few friends to talk to.

The Burgomaster

As planned, my parents and my sister and her husband came over.  We hung around eating, drinking, and watching d**k Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve as usual.  My guests were gone by about 12:10.  After they left, I watched the final Season 6 episode of THE OFFICE, then opened my Season 7 blu-ray and watched the first episode.  My wife was in bed sleeping, but my 2 dogs remained faithfully by my side until I went to bed.

My wife and I got up just after 8:00 this morning and had breakfast at iHop.  Normally, there is a pretty big crowd and a 15 - 30 minute wait on a Sunday morning.  However, today we were seated immediately.  Right after breakfast we went to Walmart to pick up a few things and the store was pretty empty.  Most of the cashiers were standing around talking to each other because no customers were in line.  Most of today will be spent watching football.

Wound up watching a couple of reruns of Grimm, having already being caught-up on my reruns of Terra Nova, then the news, then BlankMan.
