I'm not into 'fishy' at all.  Salty, yes; fishy no.  Wasn't fed much fish growing up; maybe that's why.

I had a boss who would walk around the shop with an open jar - a LARGE open jar - of pickled herring lovingly tucked into the crook of his arm, snacking as he went.   I'm afraid I probably stared at him in fascination as he popped those morsels into his mouth!  EW!

I've tried anchovies on pizza a couple of times. I found they just overpowered everything else. The flavour might be all right if it were a bit more subtle, but it just didn't blend in with the other toppings, as far as I was concerned. Too strong for pizza.

I think when people say "no anchovies" it's probably meant more as a qualifier. You want a pizza with the works, but no anchovies. It's like when I order a cheeseburger with everything, and the waitress asks specifically about hot peppers. Anchovies are a controversial topping, for lack of a better word, so someone's definition of a fully-loaded pizza might or might not include them.

They're awful.  They also RUIN the entire pizza, even if they're only on half, more so than any other topping ever.  Hell, I remember one time we had two pizzas, and the other pizza in a different box was wrecked just from being stacked with it for 20 minutes.  It tasted of anchovies.  Bleh, I hate the stuff.  Oddly enough, I like Caesar salads, and I like a lot of things that use worchestershire sauce (which has anchovies in it, for those not in the know).

Yep, I've had that happen. You put anchovies on one half, and the taste migrates across the whole thing. Must be carried by oil.

Well, I found a pizza place in our town and they actually offer anchovies. Bought one last week and ordered one again last night after work

I must say I like the rather strong and salty taste. Had to wash it down with 50 fl oz Coke though  :teddyr:

Love  anchovies, and fish in general. I do  believe many movies  have actors saying they  hate anchovies and fish, after all, fish is  brain food. :twirl:  BTW, Catch the movie  Easy  Money with Rodney Dangerfield, he's  nearly  in tears  cause his daughter  stops  him from having a Pizza  with anchovies, of course, anchovies  are very high in salt/sodium.
