I'd really like to find this film about Cats Ruling the World (or taking over, or something like that.) The movie is an animated cartoon.

It was the first movie my parents ever went to together - and I was hoping I could find info about it online.

Based on their age, I'd have to guess they saw it in either the 60s, 70s or 80s. They saw it in an old theater, which I believe my Mother told me was well on its way to shutting down soon - old-timey place, I'd imagine.

Can anyone direct me to info about this film?

Do you have any more information about the film?  Such as any memorable characters, any more plot details, or even what time period it was set in?

My first guess would be Disney's "The Aristocats" from 1970.

No, not the Aristrocats. What I know about the movie is just what I said. My mother is pretty sure it was a cartoon - but there is a chance she might be mistaken. (She's old, and this was a long time ago.)

My father once tried to find info about the movie - but couldn't either. It would mean a lot to them, though, if I could find something out.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

If it is not "The Aristocats," which has just come out on dvd/blu-ray, then my guess would have been "Gay Pur-ee," as well. To further verify whether the asked about film is "Gay Pur-ee" or not, the voices of the characters were provided by Judy Garland, Robert Goulet, and Red Buttons.

I showed them both those examples - nope on each; not Aristocats or Gay Purr-ee.

I did find out some more details. It was sci-fi themed - the cats maybe came from space. My Mom really had the point that she remembered the humans being pets.

Could it possibly be they're remembering FANTASTIC PLANET (73)?

OK here's a longshot for you: I saw reference to a film titled "Reigning Cats And Dogs" (1968) about cats and dogs ruling the universe.  That's all I have: it does not seem to be on IMDB and the title has been used a lot in books and TV episodes, and recently.  Might be a start though?
