A film that has haunted me since I was young - Title?

Hello, when I was young I was at a neighbours house. They had a movie on that was about an old man who watched two little girls on a swing near his house. He lived in a big mansion. He abducted the girls (at least one of them) and sexually assaulted them and killed one. It was awful and I have never forgotten it. Does anyone know of this, and the title?

Sounds like it could be a movie about the serial killer Albert Fish. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip about Albert Fish. I saw the movie in about 1972 or 73, and the movie about him was not made until recently. I couldn't see any movie made about him earlier.
