Speakin' of our arachnid friends,  I was watching a special about the Amazon "bird eaters" which are these ridiculously huge tarantulas that are nearly twice the size of a man's hand. Now that's TOO big  :buggedout:

From what I have read, the largest one was a foot long. And from what I have heard from an entomologist I once spoke to, he said that as adults they can wrap their legs around a basketball?!?  They don't serve any real purpose, unless you consider sh**ting your pants a worthwhile purpose....

Well, to be true, the guy I spoke to was probably quick to pick up on my dislike for spiders, and he probably said this for effect. Actually, the human head part is right as I once saw a photo of an Amazonian native with one sitting on his head, with the legs down around his chin. The smile the guy had was definitely a poker face to hide his thinly disguised fear: you could see he was scatred sh*tless.

Wished I never Yahooed "Amazon Bird Eaters" that day... :buggedout:
