What's odd is that he is apologizing for this film, which the Criteria Collection deemed important enough to redistribute.

You got to admit the first transformers movie he did, was pretty good.  Or do you think he has never done a good movie and the studios that keep wanting him to direct are morons.

The studios don't care whether he makes good movies, they care whether he makes money. Making money is at least as related to the marketing campaign as to the quality of the movie. Bay makes high-concept movies that are easy to sell.

I've actually never seen a Michael Bay-directed movie. I'm happy keeping it that way.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I want Mr. Bay to jump in front of a speeding crosstown bus for "The Island". While I could put my brain in a pickle jar and watch the movie as just an excuse to vomit non-stop and pointless action on the screen, I could not and will not forgive the BLATANT rip off of "Parts-The Clonus Horror" or "The Clonus Horror" or just plain "Clonus".

From Imdb.com:

"Director Robert S. Fiveson brought a copyright infringement suit against the makers of The Island. The lawsuit cited almost 100 points of similarity between "Clonus" and "The Island", and the court ruled that Fiveson made a prima facie case for infringement. Before the case could go to trial, Dreamworks settled with the plaintiffs for an undisclosed amount."

Doesn't change the fact that they thought they could rip off an older, "little" movie without acknowledging it. Weasels!!

And RC, you use Yiddish like a pro. My hat is off to you, sir!
