early 70s european film..........

fly-on-the-wall type film about a normal guy. shows him at his workplace in an office and at home with his wife having mundane conversations. past the halfway mark he goes to a dinnerparty at his boss's house (I think) where either he or his wife (or both) get too drunk and embarrass themselves a bit

end of the film he kills his wife then hangs himself and is discovered by his workmates, hanging
