However someone may feel about the British royals, it's an event for the history books when a new future king is born. Thinking of how this is someone who may well reign into the 22nd century puts time and our era into some sort of perspective, and orients the mind toward the future. Congrats to the family, and welcome to the little one!

As a historian, the British royals fascinate me.  They may not have the power or panache that they did a few hundred years back, but they are descendants of a very old and colorful line!

Yes, the world's a sewer. All the more reason a bit of good news is nice. Believe me, nobody ever ragged on the royals more than I did back in the day, but this baby is making a lot of people happy, and hey, happiness is good. (Well, except as fodder for action movies. Tragedy works way better there.)

George Alexander Louis: nice.

The Dutchess had a pretty hard time at first with some crappy morning sickness that put her in the hospital. So I'm glad she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. This being said....I really like babies! Royal or no,I love 'um.
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.
