The director of the Oscar winning documentary Searching For Sugarman has passed away at the age of 36.

RIP Malik: it was great to get to work with you - however briefly - may you rest in peace.

I see from www.mg.co.za that his death was ruled a suicide. 

Very, very sad: his first film won so many awards - including the Oscar - and he went and did this?
