My Little Pony got a bit of a makeover;

My Little Pony is pretty gay already, but Finnish artist Mari Kasurinen has taken the beloved stallions to a whole new level, re-conceiving them as queer icons from Tom of Finland and Karl Lagerfeld to Lady Gaga and Dolly Parton.

"We live in a visual culture and are treated as if we were starring in a reality TV-show," Kasurinen writes on her website. "Our external appearance has to represent our inner qualities. Features which are not approved by the media are forbidden and will be comforted with aggressiveness or total denial."

Well, we can't deny we love her work, which is on view in "My Little Pop Icons: Ponies of Power" at Helsinki'sMUU Gallery through September 28.
