Kubrick, Nolan, Tarantino, Wan, Iñárritu, Scorsese, Chaplin, Abrams, Wes Anderson, Gilliam, Kurosawa, Villeneuve - the elite

I believe in the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

Yeah, M. Night Shyamalan is responsible for a lot of these, most of which prove somewhat disappointing...here's another: The Village

The Village

Men in Black has a bit of a startling ending. I kind of dug it although it is kind of a "WTF" ending...

I'm one of those people that actually likes the ending to The Mist, but I'll admit it took me some time to realize it.

I left the theater feeling like I had been hit in the stomach when I first saw it.  It stayed with me for a few days as well.  And that's when I understood I was feeling exactly how I should have felt and realized that the ending not only fit but was actually pretty good. It got me to care about a movie.  Even Stephen King has said he wished he had thought of the ending.

The original more ambiguous ending of the novella would have seen like sequel bait.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

I kinda second City of the Living Dead.  I just apply my own principle there: if it's a horror movie and the ending is WTF, then just assume the worst.

The Fear, the movie with the wooden dummy for an antagonist.  It wasn't so much a "What?" ending as a "Why?" ending.

Evil Things kinda had a WTF ending. I mean, I get it, but it relies too heavily on implication.

Also, Opera.
