Happy birthday to the most remarkable woman I know: not only remarkable because she is but also that she raised a very troubled son and kept him on the straight and narrow for nearly 48 years: for that, a Congressional Medal of Honor should be awarded to her and her husband.

A feminist, a beauty (even at 82 or in her words, 40 x 2 + 2  ) and just a plain good person: I love you.

That pic of Mrs Bates aside  - which Mom laughed about when I told her yesterday - she truly is a remarkable person and one whom I love very much.
