Always wanted a film to be made of a book that while I'd read, none of my friends have. Although its been in development hell for a few years it looks like Meg by Steve Alten is going to move forward (basic plot, a Megolodon gets accidently dragged up from the Mariana Trench and a bit upset about it).

In other news, a biopic of Groucho Marx has been greenlit, helmed by Rob Zombie... Ok, thats an interesting mix.

MEG is an awesome story; I hope the movie does it justice!

Years ago, I know the Walt Disney Company had the option to turn the book into a film. It looks like they let the option lapse, as the production companies of note are now Apelles Entertainment, Gravity Pictures, and Maeday Productions. None of which I have heard of. With Warner Brothers being the distributor of note. The director as of now is Eli Roth for which I have mixed feelings. He seemingly has never done anything like this before, but . . .?! He is well known for his horror films. So we shall see what we shall see. Not that we shall see anything anytime soon, as the release date is not till 2017.

Groucho- Rob Zombie
It makes sense to me-Zombie is a culture historian in  his warped way-I think that would be cool.
