I'm thinking late 80s rather than early, and IIRC entire movie or most of it seems to take place while a group of girls is relaxing around a pool at someone's house, and various people get picked off by a killer. dumb dialogue and bikini girls is mostly what I recall... if I see a clip of this I'm pretty sure I'll know instantly if it's what I'm thinking of.

Could be DRILLER KILLER or SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE.

definitely not driller killer...probably not a million miles from the Slumber Party movies, but it's going to be more obscure than those... thanks anyway

Rayo Casablanca

ISLAND OF BLOOD (82) is a slasher that I seem to remember having a lot of footage (even a murder) at an outdoor pool.

Bikini Island 1991... I know there a lot of girls in swimsuits in that story...

Maybe... Boardinghouse 1982...

Awesome!

I was thinking 'Boardinghouse' for I couldn't come up with the name so I had to search the internet for a slasher movie list (and after a few minutes I found the movie... although, in my mind I thought the movie was made in 1985 (maybe it's because I saw the flick in 1985) but I'm more surprised to see the flick made in 1982!

I would say it's been almost 30 years since I saw the movie (OMG 30 years!!!!). Although, I don't recall it being good (or watchable) well, until I saw the clip you posted... I would say, it's NOW worth a second look :)

hah, yeah I saw it about 5 yrs ago and suddenly remembered it might be worth another look, in a "so-bad-it's-good" way of course, but the name escaped me

also turns out it got a 30th anniversary DVD release, including the bonus directors cut which clocks in at 2 hours 37 mins!

I remember liking BOARDING HOUSE a lot. Senseless T&A, psychic powers, poor special effects, a "mystery" with a bleedin' obvious solution. Pure cheese as I recall. I'd be nervous to see it again, afraid it wouldn't live up to my teenage memories.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

i predict it will do... got some quite 'positive ' reviews on IMDb... not in YouTube though and the DVD is not cheap, don't know if I can even get that 30th anniversary on here in UK.
