Lecturing on Friday morning

Here: www.tut.ac.za: my alma mater, as it happens.

Once I start droning on about the history of our film industry up until the present day, there will only be two audible sounds other than mine:

1. Dull thuds as heads hit desks
2. Loud snoring.

Well that's only if you want to show them proper history. Surely there's some weird and wonderful clips you can show to get people patriotically interested in the crazy side of their country's history?

You could show them clips from Doomsday. That was (at least partially) filmed in South Africa, wasn't it?

The oldest footage we have here is of Cape Town in 1898: it seems that the traffic in 1898 hasn't improved in 2016

Does that mean only half of your audience walked out, while you were talking? Then you did do well. Though . . .?! Next time I suggest you bring enough ropes and/or chains so you can tie the other half of the audience to their seats.

Strange: I never knew that place - where I studied - had a dedicated arts campus until last week.
