OK, I was gonna make a joke, but that is just plain disturbing.
But - I wonder how maggots made money for these guys?  Do people buy maggots?

About the only two things I can think of is selling them as fishing bait or hospitals using them to clean out wounds.

I was going to say the same thing as Dark Alex, but he beat me to it. Maggots are still used in medicine today, as they are still one of the best ways to clean out dead flesh around a wound.
