Is this an art project or did this magazine really exist in the 1960s? (Maybe slightly nsfw...but just barely.) I dunno, it just seems so....unlikely.

Oh-it's real. I've run into a couple of issues on the Internet Archive looking for old magazines to scan pictures from for my Tumblr blog.
It started publication on 1959 and ended in 1980. They reviewed lots of 'art films'-basically anything that had nudity that was 'classy'.

FILMS AND FILMING was a real magazine that used racy pictures from mainstream films on the cover and in the articles.  There are several back issues available now on eBay.  They did NOT focus on porn, but were not shy about film content.  It was kind of high brow...
